In 1961, the Boston Architect Henry Wood purchased this amazing island mansion with his wife for only $3,600 on Rhode Island’s Narragansett Bay. Today, the Clingstone House (designed by J.S. Lovering Wharton with artist William Trost Richards) is a warm all-wood home with a 360-degree view of the ocean.

Three stories tall, the Clingstone House has a large center hall, ten bedrooms and total of twenty-three rooms total. It would be hard to find a deal like this on today’s market for that little money, despite the fact that the salt and water-wear from the surrounding ocean on the oak beams would make maintenance of this spectacular mansion ridiculously expensive. But hey, you do what you have to do to live in your own version of paradise!

Hello Kitty House Design in Shanghai

Obviously meant for the fancy girls who adore the cute cuddly cat, check out this lovely Hello Kitty House (Villa) in Shanghai. Designed in – what else but pink, this cute looking mansion has Hello Kitty themed interiors and a charming exterior that would make a guy blog live from the premises if permission granted.
The famous kitty bow in pink and white is spread all across the walls, the clock, the furniture and (even) the bed etc. Quite mental, we’re honestly thinking if we’d be able to live fore more than one week inside …

Crescent Road House: Downtown Toronto sports a modern delight

While most of the contemporary structures look simply stunning, the real challenge lies in turning them into cozy and comfortable homes that are a lot more than eye candy. The Crescent Road House in Rosedale, Toronto manages to achieve this with its pristine white interiors, inviting wooden exteriors and ambient lighting solutions
The designers used stone, glass and wood judiciously along with the right blend of natural and artificial lighting to create a place that meets the demands of those who live in it. With an atrium that organizes the homes design and provides with adequate ventilation, this is one home you would not hesitate to step into!

Nouvel’s Lighting Scheme in the Louvre Abu Dhabi

An amazing idea for builders or designers who are looking for bright, natural light without using a light shelf, formal skylights or high windows, the final product will be no doubt an absolutely amazing architectural space.

Amidst a traditionally-inspired dome ceiling for the newly-designed renderings for the “Louvre Abu Dhabi” in the United Arab Emirates are thousands of little breaks, edges and holes that allow for a flurry of warm and charming sun light to slice in through the ceiling like the canopy of a rainforest. As you walk down the pavilions, plazas, alleyways and canals that seemingly float as sea level, the sunlight will hit the interior of the gallery space in completely new and exciting ways. Although these images are only renderings, the museum was design to allow for the naturalness of sunlight while keeping the interior bright and cool in the hot UAE summer days (which can literally pop up year-round).
